Frequently asked questions

Explore frequently asked questions about Arkus, including how it works, its capabilities, architecture, integrations, infrastructure, and pricing. Whether you’re just getting started or evaluating the platform for your organization, this section provides clear and practical answers.

What is Arkus?

Arkus is a conversational, no-code platform that enables you to build AI-powered agents for health, wellness, and life sciences. Through a simple conversation with the platform, you explain your needs and problems, and the platform creates an agentic solution to address them. The platform is purpose-built for healthcare and wellness domains, handling the unique challenges of regulatory compliance, data sensitivity, and domain complexity that generic AI tools cannot adequately address.

Who is Arkus for?

Arkus AI is designed for three main audiences:

  • Digital health scale-ups and SMEs: Product teams, clinicians, and marketers who want to experiment with AI agents without waiting for engineering resources
  • Early-stage founders and startup-wannabes: Entrepreneurs building health AI startups without having an AI team
  • Wellness operators: Organizations running wellness workflows who want to move beyond manual processes and spreadsheets

You don’t need coding skills, but you should have a clear understanding of your needs and problems in the health/wellness domain.

What are AI agents?

You can think about an AI agent as an intelligent assistant that:

  • Understands requests and reasons about them
  • Performs actions by using connected tools (like Google Calendar, email, or databases)
  • Consults defined knowledge bases (like clinical guidelines or PDF documents)
  • Acts as the central “brain” that coordinates multi-step workflows
  • Can be integrated into existing tools or even prototypes built in Lovable.

Unlike a simple chatbot, an AI agent can plan multi-step actions, decide when to call different tools, integrate retrieved knowledge, and maintain conversational context.

What can I achieve with Arkus?

With Arkus, you can build various healthcare and wellness solutions. The platform already has several pre-built templates available:

  • Medical and clinical guideline interpretation agents
  • Patient consent, review, and compliance agents
  • Patient-facing symptom tracking and follow-up agents
  • Research, literature review, and evidence synthesis agents
  • Customer/patient onboarding to follow-up workflows
  • Medical staff shift scheduling based on fairness

All templates are fully customizable. You can adapt them through conversation, configuration, or (if you have technical skills) code.

What makes Arkus different?

Unlike general-purpose tools like Lovable, Make.ai, n8n, or CrewAI, Arkus AI offers:

  • Domain-specific focus: Built specifically for health, wellness, and life sciences, not generic workflows.
  • Pre-built templates and components: healthcare-specific building blocks rather than starting from scratch.
  • Built-in compliance: Designed for regulated environments with governance, data compliance, anonymization.
  • Healthcare expertise: The platform understands healthcare workflows and asks domain-relevant questions.
  • Data sovereignty: Your data doesn’t need to reside on the Arkus platform.
What do I need to get started?

Once you have signed up for Arkus AI platform, any additional requirements depend on your specific project and vision. In general, you’ll need access to an AI model (the brain powering your AI agent). Arkus AI chat will inform you if you need additional tools or credentials and will guide you through setting them up.

What are templates, and when should I use them?

Templates are pre-built agents designed specifically for health, wellness, and life science use cases. They represent best practices and accelerate your time to value. Each template represents an efficient flow that can be further customised to fit your individual needs, rather than building from scratch.

When to use a template:

  • You’re building a solution similar to existing workflows
  • You want to learn by example
  • You need to move quickly from idea to working agent

For example, if you need to create a staff scheduling solution that accounts for availability, personal circumstances and fairness, you can start with one of our templates. The logic and architecture will already be in place and the conversational agent builder will help you adjust any specific details. Even when starting with a template, you can modify, extend, or remove any part of it.

Do I need coding skills to use Arkus?

No. The Arkus AI Agent Builder is very accessible for non-technical users. You can start to build agents by having a conversation with the platform about your needs.

If you’d like to get more technical, you can dive into agent architecture and start visually connecting components (agent blocks) in a no-code interface. Or, if you are a skilled coder, the platform also supports more technical control over agent creation.

What tools and integrations are available?

Arkus platform can help you connect a variety of tools and workflows and is constantly evolving. Some of the examples worth mentioning are EHR tools, calendars and scheduling applications, files, Google Docs and Google Sheets and many others.

You can see the full list of current components here.

How do I configure API keys and credentials?

Once your agent has been created, simply click the “Test agent” button.

Please note that the agent will perform the tasks you ask it to do, such as sending emails, updating records or deleting files. Keep this in mind if you’re testing the agent on real data or with live systems.

How can I see more details about the created agent?

By default, you’ll see the conversational agent builder, which will guide you through the creation and setup of your AI Agent. If you’d like to see more technical details or edit the AI agent manually, please turn on the “Show/edit architecture” switch at the top of the screen.

How can I use my agents in my own infrastructure?

Arkus AI solutions can be deployed directly on the Arkus AI platform, enabling rapid experimentation and early production use. As needs grow, solutions can also be deployed within the customer’s own environment, helping avoid vendor lock-in.

Data does not need to reside on the Arkus AI platform, even when the agentic solution is deployed and operated on Arkus AI.

How much does it cost? Is a free version available?

The free version is available to anyone and doesn’t require a credit card. Simply create an account with Arkus AI and you’ll get:

  • 200 credits
  • Access to basic templates
  • Ability to create and test AI agents
